Sony Tape Tool (STT) for Windows Write/Read test may fail with "Write failed SKey, AscAscq 052400" if Removable Storage Manager (RSM) service is started while the Write/ Read test is running. To avoid this problem it is recommended to stop the RSM service before proceeding with the STT Write/Read test. To stop the RSM service, click on the Windows Start button, Settings, Control Panel. In Control Panel double-click on Administrative Tools, then double-click on the Services, then scroll down to Removable Storage service and Double-click to open. Click on Stop and then OK to close. After you have finished using STT, remember to restart RSM if you use the Windows Ntbackup utility. If you do not use the Windows Ntbackup utility, we suggest you change in Services the startup type of the RSM service to "Disabled"
